Lapland 2

I don't really have the energy to post a ton of talk. Maybe I'll just work my way through the pictures and a story will develop...

We went to the Siida and I tried to take photos of what we saw.

The picture below obviously deserves some explanation. We didn't get much of one. Just something about picking reindeer for sled pullers and "Gelding my chewing". Uhh...

Things made out of antler.

Lunch buffet. Salmon and potatoes, reindeer meat in rice cold, salad, bread, odd cold pizza, pickled things, juice and dessert of berries in Cool Whip stuff.

A little more time in the museum before our hike.

And the gift shop. Magnets made out of antler then burned into, but traditionally etched then filled with ash.

There were plenty of classier things especially made out of antler.

On to the hike.

A cool roof/shingle system.

A lemming dead in the trail.

 The wilderness church. Our destination.

Inside. Alter.

We found the bell tower.

Then enjoyed the inside balconies.

Lichen.

We hiked back and drove back to our little cabin. Prepared dinner and a sauna. Had a GREAT sauna.

Inside the cabin. John had to sit VERY still for this one to work out.

Our cabin with the flash.
