The pizza party for John's birthday worked out fine. We did get some interesting ingredient offerings from people's refrigerators and freezers including beans, pineapple, turkey, and frozen mixed veggies. We used the turkey. And I can't wait to eat the can of pineapple, by itself.
I was worried that people didn't get enough to eat, but we had lots of cake to eat that Senka made, so that topped off everyone's stomach.
John didn't take good pictures....

We had out on our coffee table: German children's books, a knitting book, a English children's book, a deck of cards, my knitting, and Crime and Punishment. These provided a lot of entertainment! People liked them and we pulled out more. Some people learned Black Jack. Everyone REALLY liked Allison and Rachel's cloth book. That went around later when talking about a baby shower. There are usually too many people for one conversation to happen, but then there are those times when all but one conversation ends. People enjoyed looking at our wedding photos which we had just put up, and a picture of John and his siblings when John was 5 or so.

We've decided that we will have to have people over often later in life! It keeps the place clean from preparation and everyone pitching in to clean up afterwards.

In other news.. it snowed yesterday! It's all gone now of course, but we went for a walk in the morning and enjoyed it. It came down gently and sometimes was more freezing rain. We did catch snowflake conglomerates on our tongues. I finished John's hat! For good this time. :)
The sound of the waves lapping on slush was really interesting. We could have listened for a while.
